 2-1-05 The first meeting...
The first time Science Club met, we focused on the solar system. Small groups of students were each assigned a planet, which they measured and drew to scale using the concept of radius. The kids added realistic details to their planet's surface, and added the planet's moons as well! Students labeled their drawings with the planet's name, diameter, and distance from the sun. We then lined up the planets at the correct distance apart, and admired all our hard work! Come view one of the solar systems created - it is on display near the first grade hallway! |
