Frequently Asked Questions for Entering 6th graders
(and their parents/guardians)
What time does school start?
Answer: Students are able to enter school at 7:30am. Students are not to be in school before 7:30am. 6th graders wait in the main lobby along with 7th grade but are welcome to enter the café for breakfast or to add money to their lunch account. At 7:45 all students are allowed to go to the 6th grade hallway and are able to get into their lockers to get organized for the day. Period 1 begins at 7:53am.
Where do students report on the morning of September, 7, 2010
Answer: For the first day of school ALL middle school students will report to their AA/Homeroom. This room number can be found on the student schedule. On every other school day students will report to the class scheduled for period 1/2.
If you don’t ride a bus and you wish to be dropped off or picked up where do I do that?
Answer: Student drop-off and pick-up is in front of the HS on the school side of the street. There is a pull off area built into the street. After drop-off or pick-up please proceed up West State Street and turn onto Brooklyn Ave. U-Turns on West State Street are unsafe and dangerous at these busy times during the year. There are cross walks provided for student use if they need to cross West State Street from the opposite side of the street.
How do I get money into my child’s cafeteria account?
Answer: The café staff is able to add cash or checks (payable to WMS Café Fund) between 7:30am and 7:53am each day. Students can simply hand the payment to any of the cashiers. Parents are also welcome to mail in checks to the attention of Robin Kellogg, WCS Café Manager, 126 West State Street, Wellsville, NY 14895.
