  • Skills USA 1st Place Winners

GARY HAVENS from Wellsville and SIDNEY STEIN from Bolivar, competed at the SKILLS USA competitions held at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY on April 28, 2016.

Both students are in the Media Communications Class at the CTE Center in Belmont, Gary is a Senior and Sidney is a Junior.  The class is taught by Mr. Steve Pettenati. Their competition was to create a Chapter Display, keep a working log, and present this to the Judges.  Skills USA Advisors were Mr. Bernie Riley and Ms. Courtney Potter.

After months of planning, hard work, and involving other students and classes; their efforts paid off with a First Place Finish.

Congratulations to both of them, they now have the opportunity to go to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the SKILLS USA Nationals. They will be in competition against the first place winner from each state. Good Luck at this competition in June.
